Humph

Not blogging.  Can't make me.

Wrote something ridiculously useless the other day. If you're bored out of your mind and/or a total geek like me (the science kind, not the computer kind), you might enjoy reading it.

It's supposed to be more of an introduction to the topic than anything, and was intended to be accessible even to people without tehnical degrees.  The first half is the good stuff.  I was asked to include the math, so it's all at the end.  Feel free to skip.  :)

terrible horrible no good very bad MONday

Actually, make that Month.  It feels like Liz and I have just been spinning our wheels.  Daniel has spent about 70% of his time sick lately, which means he takes a lot of time and attention.  Thanksgiving was fun and we had a couple good trips to the boro, but things have just been pretty hard in general.

Now Liz is getting sick... sounds like she's losing her voice, too.  Every cloud, right?

Liz and I downloaded a free trial of World of Warcraft.  We both like it so far, but I doubt we'll actually pay for it.  I suppose if we still like it after the 10-day trial, we could always trade it for Blockbuster Online.  We'll just have to decide what's most entertaining, as either would come from the entertainment budget, and we can only do one.

Sarah and Nell got Daniel an awesome toy cellphone.  He's SO cute with it.  It's a flip-phone style.  He'll pick it up, open it, press some buttons, put it to his ear, and say a variety of things, usually starting with something that sounds quite a bit like "hi."  He also likes to hand you the phone so you can chat with the caller, but you better give it back to him!

Question

If someone were to ask you a hypothetical question, would you answer?

Cold, Colder, Frozen Solid

Yesterday, I took the bike to work.  It was in the upper teens.  As long as I have all the gear I need, this isn't actually too bad.  What WAS bad, though, was the day before when it was in the 30's and I failed to realize that my gloves were still wet from the day before.  I wear a pair of cotton gloves inside my winter gloves.  I put those on first, and so didn't notice that my winter gloves hadn't dried out over night.  After a couple of minutes, I noticed the cold was really penetrating my gloves.  At that point, I realized my gloves must still be wet and I knew it was too late to go back.  An hour later, I arrived with red hands and purple-ish finger tips.  That was a mistake I'm not going to make again.

Comedy Minute

Man One:  "Take one more step and I'll kill you where you stand!"
Man Two:  "If I take a step, I won't be standing here anymore."
